The Finlander has a B.A. degree in English Literature from the University of Washington. And like the character that Danny Devito plays in Renaissance Man, he has begun to tutor English, and help with an English as Second Language class at the Columbia Gorge Community College, in The Dalles, Oregon. Like most English majors without a teaching credential, finding jobs is difficult, with out an advanced degree. I have worked as an advocate for the disabled, before funding cuts killed the agency I was working for. I have also worked as a census taker, in a fast food joint, selling copy machine toner over the phone, lawnmower and yard man for the elderly, a caregiver, and as a Certified Nurse's Assistant. I was fired from my job as a C.N.A. at Evergreen Nursing Home in The Dalles in December of 2001. As a result of that I have been experiencing some hard times, as it seems I have been blacklisted. I have gotten a job as a Motor Carrier for the Portland, Oregon OREGONIAN. To the right, I have listed some of my favorite British Fiction, but by no means all of the titles I like. I will add a general literature in the near future.
Barnes and Noble has a great selection of books, and a very good place to look for literature. Plus they have a nice coffee shop where you can sit and read your new books with a latte.
